{"id":3447,"date":"2024-08-09T11:23:46","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T11:23:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blockwind.news\/china\/2024\/08\/09\/yuga-labs-debuts-first-nft-collection-on-bitcoin\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T17:13:02","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T17:13:02","slug":"yuga-labs-debuts-first-nft-collection-on-bitcoin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blockwind.news\/china\/2024\/08\/09\/yuga-labs-debuts-first-nft-collection-on-bitcoin\/","title":{"rendered":"Yuga Labs Debuts First NFT Collection on Bitcoin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">March 3, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Sharan Kaur Phillora<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yuga Labs, the $4 billion company behind the dominant NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club, will debut its first-ever Bitcoin-based NFT project later this week, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/yugalabs\/status\/1\"><u>announced Monday<\/u><\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here\u2019s what we know:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yuga Labs plans to auction a collection of 300 generative pieces on the Bitcoin blockchain later this week called <a href=\"https:\/\/twelvefold.io\/faqs\"><u>TwelveFold,<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;which could be the kind of event Bitcoin purists say will slow down the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s one of the highest-profile launches to date via Ordinals, a recently-launched way of committing artwork and media to Bitcoin by permanently attaching each to an individual Satoshi or 1\/100,000,000 of a full Bitcoin (BTC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twelvefold is a base 12 system that will be hosted on a 12\u00d712 grid, making it \u201ca visual analogy for mapping data on the Bitcoin blockchain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The collection will comprise highly rendered 3D pieces and hand-drawn elements that pay homage to the existing Ordinal Inscriptions, most of which are currently done by hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the crypto community continues to examine the potential of Ordinals, it is difficult to tell if the trend is truly beginning to abate. In addition, Yuga Lab\u2019s TwelveFold NFT collection is certain to get a great deal of attention.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The precise moment of the auction will be published 24 hours before the drop via Yuga Labs\u2019 social media platforms and the company\u2019s official news blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users can access the TwelveFold website for further information about the project.
