The top trader snagged more than $1.9 million worth of the Ethereum-based governance tokens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here\u2019s what we know:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to public blockchain data <a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/pandajackson42\/blur-airdrop\"><u>curated by Dune<\/u><\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/opensea.io\/0xD5eE00b7BAbd9374D32159CD7cD82bb99eF831fd\/activity\"><u>top claimant<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in the BLUR airdrop took home over 3.2 million BLUR tokens, valued at about $1.93 million based on the current price of about $0.60 per token via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/blur\"><u>CoinGecko<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blockworksresearch.com\/\"><u>Blockworks Research<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;analyst <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/0xpibblez\"><u>Spencer Hughes<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;said the airdrop caused \u201ca very eventful day on Ethereum, sending gas prices towards nearly 1500 GWEI.\u201d Traders were able to sell BLUR for $5 a token, according to Hughes \u2014 a ten-fold multiple on its $0.50 on-chain price.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Top claimants in the Blur airdrop include well-known collectors and social media personalities, including the pseudonymous <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/machibigbrother\/status\/1625575612495851520\"><u>Machi Big Brother<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;(almost 1.85 million BLUR, or $1.1 million worth), <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/keung\/status\/1625571714661769217\"><u>Keungz<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;(610K BLUR, or $368,000 worth), and <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/105597\/ethereum-nft-whale-loses-150k-on-a-meme-gone-wrong\"><u>major Bored Ape Yacht Club trader<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/franklinisbored\/status\/1625591635475329024\"><u>Franklin<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;(540K BLUR, or $326,000 worth).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While BLUR shot as high as $5.02 per token when it first hit the market last Tuesday, it fell sharply later by 88% from that short-lived peak.
