The company issued its first NFTs to attendees of its first <a href=\"https:\/\/dciia.org\/page\/2022IFSpeakers\"><u>Innovation Forum<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;held in September to showcase the digital assets ecosystem to its clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The attendees downloaded the NFT through the firm\u2019s Benji Investments app, which acted as \u201ca badge.\u201d The clients could then use the token to access research reports from the Franklin Templeton digital assets team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/mikemuir\/\"><u>Mike Muir<\/u><\/a>, Franklin Templeton\u2019s head of digital assets technology, told Blockworks in an interview, \u201cWe see NFTs in their literal sense and more generally than just for their application with artwork or collectibles. In the long term, we are considering generalizing our issuance of NFTs for various purposes and are devoted to uncovering new applications for these assets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dmitriyberenzon\/\"><u>Dmitriy Berenzon<\/u><\/a>, a research partner at early-stage venture fund <a href=\"https:\/\/1kx.network\/\"><u>1kx<\/u><\/a>, said, &#8220;It is not about permissioned blockchains that try to improve the efficiency of walled gardens, but rather about permissionless, crypto networks that drive human coordination at scale through the use of tokens.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But this isn&#8217;t the first time Frankin Templeton has been exploring the crypto market. In October this year, the company began offering two crypto-focused separately managed accounts (SMA) this quarter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.franklintempleton.com\/press-releases\/news-room\/2022\/franklin-templeton-introduces-digital-asset-sma-models-on-eaglebrook-advisors-platform\"><u>via a partnership<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;with Eaglebrook Advisors, a crypto-centric investment management firm.
