Maybank Asset Management Singapore is venturing into tokenized finance with the launch of its first on-chain Money Market Fund, developed in collaboration with Marketnode and BNP Paribas. As the financial sector increasingly explores the potential of tokenization, the partnership marks a significant step toward enhancing the accessibility, utility, and transferability of money market funds.
Under the arrangement, BNP Paribasâ Securities Services division will act as the transfer agent, enabling the integration of tokenized funds into existing capital markets infrastructure.
The initiative leverages Marketnodeâs modular Gateway technology, which provides tokenization architecture designed to improve connectivity, efficiency, and transparency across the investment value chain.
With recent integrations including Solana, Stellar, and XRP Ledger, Gateway supports both EVM and non-EVM blockchain networks, offering flexibility across multiple ecosystems. The collaboration aims to broaden tokenization across additional fund portfolios and explore new collateral use cases in order to meet the efficiency and flexibility requirements of an on-chain capital future.
This alliance underscores the strength of cooperation across the financial ecosystem at a moment when industry architecture must evolve rapidly as tokenization moves from concept to commercial reality.
âWe are establishing what the future generation of reliable, interoperable markets in Asia can look like by overcoming infrastructure gaps and bringing our partners’ expertise together,â said Andrew Scott, Marketnode’s Head of Digital Assets.
âWe are thrilled to work with BNP Paribas and Marketnode to implement our Maybank Money Market Fund on-chain. This makes our products more accessible to investors today. As we move toward a tokenized future, which the Singaporean financial sector is swiftly adopting, our partnership demonstrates our commitment to innovation and our ambition to capitalize on technology,â said Ivan Won, Maybank Asset Management Singaporeâs Head of Product & Marketing.
