Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commissioner, Policy and Lawmakers, and Virtual Asset Industry Heavyweights to Speak on Tue, July 8

TAIPEI—Taiwan’s most influential voices in digital assets, financial regulation and fintech will converge on July 8 for the “2025 The Future of Virtual Assets: Regulated Derivatives Policy Forum,” a summit that promises to shape the next chapter in the island’s rapidly evolving crypto landscape.

The forum, organized by the Bitcoin and Virtual Asset Development Association (比特幣及虛擬資產發展協會), comes at a pivotal moment as Taiwan’s long-awaited Virtual Asset Service Provider Act moves toward legislative review. The event, to be held at the Hua Nan Bank International Conference Center, will gather top policymakers, industry heavyweights and legal experts to debate the future of regulated crypto products—from derivatives to ETFs and accounting standards.

The forum’s opening address will be delivered by Financial Supervisory Commission Vice Chair Chen Yan-Liang (陳彥良), setting the stage for a day of high-level dialogue between government, industry and academia. Legislative Yuan members JC Ko (葛如鈞) and Huang Shan-Shan (黃珊珊) will headline the first session, outlining the goals and challenges of Taiwan’s virtual asset legislation.

Panel discussions will tackle three of the industry’s thorniest questions:

  • “Virtual Asset Derivatives: Taiwan’s Legal Blueprint and Development Opportunities” will be moderated by Dr. Hsu Pei-Ling (徐珮菱), BVADA Chair and Director of the Institute of Financial Technology at CTBC Business School (中信金融管理學院). Panelists include MaiCoin Group CEO Alex Liu (劉世偉), BitoPro Group CEO and Taiwan VASP Association Chair Titan Cheng (鄭光泰), and Professor Chen Jin-Ji (陳錦稷) of CTBC Business School.
  • “The Prospects and Regulatory Pathways for Virtual Asset ETFs in Taiwan” will be led by Bitcoin & Virtual Asset Development Association’s (BVADA) Honorary Chair Henry Lin (林紘宇), with insights from Far Eastern International Bank’s David Tai (戴松志), Ming Chuan University’s Fintech School Professor Lin Meng-Hsiang (林盟翔), and Liminal Custody’s Head of Sales in Taiwan, Lesley Kuo Tzu-Yin (郭姿吟).
  • “Taiwan’s MicroStrategy Moment? Accounting and Disclosure of Virtual Assets for Listed Companies” will feature Paul S. P. Hsu (徐小波), Chief Legal Advisor at Lin & Partners Law Firm (恆業法律事務所), joined by KPMG Partner Chen Fu-Jen (陳富仁), HOYA BIT Founder Peng Yun-Xian (彭云嫻), CPA Cheng Hsiang-Yu (鄭翔宇), and blockchain consultant Lee Jian-Si (李牮斯).

A special session, “Navigating New Regulatory Frontiers: Hong Kong’s VASP Framework and EU MiCA’s Global Impact,” will be moderated by Blockwind News editor Joe Pan, with speakers Danny Lung (龍順衡), CEO of PQA Labs, and Jessica Chuah (蔡詩萍), Vice President of Crystal Intelligence.

Registration is open to the public, with details available through the official event portal https://www.accupass.com/event/2506130914069811782280. As Taiwan stands at a crossroads—caught between global crypto adoption and regulatory caution—the July 8 forum is set to be a bellwether for Asia’s next digital finance powerhouse.
