Singapore ranks top in blockchain and cryptocurrency worldwide: a survey

A recent analysis conducted by ApeX has identified the top ten countries excelling in blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, with Singapore leading the ranking. This evaluation employs a detailed index that assesses nations based on three primary criteria: the number of blockchain patents, employment opportunities in blockchain technology, and the quantity of cryptocurrency exchanges.

Singapore is at the forefront, boasting over 2,400 blockchain technology jobs and housing one of the highest numbers of cryptocurrency exchanges globally, totaling 81 platforms.

Following Singapore, Hong Kong secures the second position in the realm of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology. The region’s financial infrastructure effectively incorporates blockchain, supported by more than 1,100 jobs in blockchain technology and a similar number of cryptocurrency exchanges.

Estonia occupies the third spot, with 95 blockchain patents, 149 jobs related to blockchain, and 52 cryptocurrency exchanges.

Switzerland is ranked fourth, recognized for its leadership in decentralized finance, which is bolstered by 440 blockchain-related jobs and 32 cryptocurrency exchanges.

The United States holds the fifth position, featuring 32,000 blockchain patents, over 17,000 jobs in blockchain technology, and 166 cryptocurrency exchanges.

Canada is in sixth place, offering more than 1,200 jobs related to blockchain, 1,200 blockchain patents, and 32 cryptocurrency exchanges.

Australia ranks seventh, having developed 1,400 blockchain patents, with 573 jobs in blockchain technology and 31 cryptocurrency exchanges.

South Korea is positioned eighth, with 18,000 blockchain patents, the second-highest total among the countries analyzed. Its workforce is relatively smaller, comprising 121 blockchain-related jobs and 29 cryptocurrency exchanges.

The United Kingdom is ninth, featuring 95 cryptocurrency exchanges, 2,673 jobs in blockchain technology, and 2,800 blockchain patents.

Finally, the United Arab Emirates rounds out the list at tenth place, with 340 blockchain patents, 414 jobs related to blockchain, and nine cryptocurrency exchanges.
