The third edition of the India Blockchain Tour (IBT) concluded successfully in Mumbai, marking a significant milestone in the series aimed at exploring the vast potential of blockchain technology and its applications in fintech. This event, part of an eight-city tour, attracted a diverse group of blockchain enthusiasts, industry leaders, developers, and innovators from across the country.
The conference featured an impressive roster of speakers, including Vatsal Kanakiya, CEO at 100x VC; Subhradeep Bhattacharya, Head of Product Management at NPCI; Hema Dubey, VP at Interakt; Vish, India Head at Berachain; Sanjay Tripathy, CEO at BRISKPE; and Rachna Baruah, Founder at Madchatter Brand Solutions. Each speaker offered valuable insights into the evolving landscape of blockchain technology and its implications for the future of finance.
In his keynote address, Vish from Berachain underscored the growing significance of Proof of Liquidity (PoL) as an evolution beyond Proof of Stake (PoS). “Proof of Liquidity is emerging as a critical concept in the blockchain ecosystem. It’s essential for success in this segment, going beyond the capabilities of Proof of Stake. Embracing and understanding this evolution is vital for staying ahead in the industry,” Vish stated.
Khushboo Gadhia, PM at an Insuretech startup, discussed the crucial role of fintech in navigating complex regulatory landscapes. She emphasised the importance of proactive engagement between regulatory bodies and fintech firms. “In the rapidly evolving fintech space, understanding and complying with regulatory frameworks is crucial for building trust and ensuring the longevity of any fintech venture,” Gadhia said. She further urged the RBI to move beyond post-facto discussions and actively collaborate with fintech companies to shape effective guidelines.
A notable highlight of the event was the panel discussion on “Product Management in Finance and Blockchain,” which delved into VAPT (Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing) and its critical role in safeguarding customer security within the fintech and banking sectors. The panel addressed the challenges posed by the dynamic regulatory environment and the intersection of finance and blockchain technology.
The India Blockchain Tour (IBT) continues to be an important venue for discussing blockchain innovations and making relationships in the crypto and financial worlds. Octaloop, a major Web3 consulting and marketing firm, organised the tour to highlight its dedication to advancing blockchain technology through high-profile events and collaborations.
