Flipkart and Nothing are partnering up for the very first NFT drop on FireDrops.
Nothing is behind the highly popular ‘phone (1)’, and Flipkart is an e-commerce company.
The NFT will go live on the brand new web3-focused feature titled ‘FireDrops’ from Flipkart next week, on July 22nd.
‘Flipkart’ and ‘Nothing’ NFT
The Flipkart x Nothing NFT is dropping on Flipkart’s internal feature, FireDrops on July 22nd. The NFT will be titled ‘Nothing Community Dots’.
To clarify, certain people will be airdropped the NFTs. Particularly, it will be those who have pre-booked the Nothing Phone (1) on Flipkart between July 12th and July 18th.
To receive the airdrop, community investors will need to log in to their Nothing account, connect or create a crypto wallet, and navigate to the ‘My NFT Page’, as explained on Nothing’s Twitter.
The Nothing Community Dots are set to be built on the eco-friendly blockchain of Polygon. The blockchain is a scaling solution. It aims to provide multiple tools to improve the speed and reduce the cost and complexities of transactions on blockchain networks.
The price of the ‘Phone (1) in India ranges from Rs. 32,999 (~$410) to Rs. 38,999 (~$490) depending on the RAM and storage that comes with the device.
The FireDrops Platform
FireDrops is a web3-focused feature that will go live on Flipkart in the next few days. Through this platform, Flipkart is looking to expand its offerings from physical items to virtual assets.
Flipkart, the creator of this new FireDrops platform is an Indian-based e-commerce company that started selling books but has now moved on to an array of products, not too dissimilar to what Amazon has done.
The Chief Product and Technology Officer, Jayandran Venugopal of Flipkart said, “Innovation and foray in the Web3 space are focused towards driving engagement between brands, businesses, enterprises, and their communities. We are delighted to join hands with Nothing to bring our customers into the Web3 playground with the very first NFT drop at Flipkart FireDrops, hosted on Polygon’s blockchain”.
Manu Sharma, the Vice President and General Manager of Nothing India commented on the drop and partnership with Flipkart/FireDrops. They said: “We also plan to make not just the phone category, but other ecosystem devices future-ready by enabling sustainable and secure access to Web3.”
Already on Twitter, FireDrops by Flipkart has gained almost 3,000 followers. One of their Tweets was a thread describing what FireDrops was in detail.
They said that they will offer you: “Exclusive limited-edition NFT drop – Dots by Nothing that you can claim if you’ve bought a Nothing phone recently.”, which is the one coming up soon.
Also, they confirmed that “the drop will be a part of the Flipkart app soon”.
