Changpeng Zhao, the visionary co-founder and leader of the cryptocurrency giant Binance, has launched a new venture: Giggle Academy.

Announced early Tuesday in Asia on the social media platform X, Zhao is looking for talents to bring his novel concept to life. Giggle Academy is set to redefine the educational landscape with its unique blend of gamification and adaptability, offering no-cost foundational education accessible to everyone.
At the heart of Zhao’s ambitious project is the mission to empower underserved youth in developing countries, providing a comprehensive curriculum from first to twelfth grade. This initiative is particularly noteworthy for its commitment to being a “zero revenue platform,” a move that highlights Zhao’s dedication to education over profit.
Giggle Academy promises to make learning engaging and rewarding by integrating game-like elements such as points, scores, and rankings. Students can earn NFT badges to mark their achievements in a unique twist. Despite these innovations, Zhao has clarified that the platform will avoid cryptocurrency transactions, ensuring the focus remains squarely on educational advancement.
The concept paper for Giggle Academy also teases the future integration of a “learn-to-earn” model, which could further incentivize students to engage with their studies. Zhao, reflecting on his career journey and personal aspirations, shared, “I contemplated my next steps for months. I was driven by the desire to make a substantial positive impact, leveraging my strengths in a scalable way.”
Zhao’s shift to educational technology follows his November agreement to a $50 million penalty in light of charges related to violating the Bank Secrecy Act. This settlement marked the end of his tenure at Binance, paving the way for his full-time commitment to Giggle Academy and its noble cause.
